Zama (ZAMA) is a cryptocurrency launched in 2026. It is a privacy infrastructure token built on Ethereum that extends its Fully Homomorphic Encryption capabilities across Solana and BNB Smart Chain.
Its primary function is to perform computation on encrypted data without exposing the plaintext. This resolves a persistent market friction: the forced choice between blockchain transparency and the confidentiality required for institutional and personal financial privacy. The protocol unlocks previously unworkable applications—private lending, dark pool trading, and blind auctions—without sacrificing verifiability.
Zama operates on its own blockchain, the Zama Gateway Mainnet, as a cross-chain privacy coordination layer. Token representations on Ethereum, Solana, and BNB Smart Chain are linked to this mainnet through native mint-and-burn contracts.
The asset is implemented as ERC-20 on Ethereum, BEP-20 on BNB Smart Chain, and SPL on Solana. Fully Homomorphic Encryption is the core primitive. It allows smart contracts to execute logic on ciphertexts, returning encrypted outputs without a trusted execution environment. The scheme operates over arithmetic circuits that support both addition and multiplication of encrypted values, a property absent in simpler zero-knowledge paradigms.
Zama was conceived by an open-source cryptography team and secured early backing from Pantera Capital and Multicoin Capital. The token distribution commenced via a Binance Wallet IDO and CoinList Launchpad sale in early 2026, immediately generating liquidity across 26 exchanges and 173 active trading pairs. Within weeks, daily volume surpassed $25,475,493.
Its long-term mission is to dismantle the binary between transparency and confidentiality in decentralized systems. Rather than tacking on privacy as an optional layer, Zama aims to embed FHE as a native execution environment for future Web3 protocols. A lending market could compute collateral ratios without ever seeing individual deposits.
ZAMA directly powers the FHE computation market—users pay for encryption, decryption, and ciphertext processing in ZAMA tokens. Developers must hold or burn it to deploy confidential smart contracts that consume on-chain FHE resources. It is also the sole unit for paying transaction fees on the Zama Gateway Mainnet.
Validators stake ZAMA to secure the Gateway Mainnet, earning protocol emissions in return. Liquidity providers supply the token to cross-chain pools, enabling private asset transfers between Ethereum, Solana, and BSC while capturing swap fees. Traders access it across 173 active markets to take a position on the growth of on-chain privacy demand.
Zama (ZAMA) has a total supply of 11,000,000,000 tokens. Currently, 2,200,000,000 are in circulation. With a market capitalization of $62,745,142, Zama (ZAMA) ranks #415 among all cryptocurrencies.
