HOLD (EARN) is a cryptocurrency launched in 2023. It is a reflection token deployed on multiple layer-1 blockchains, with Ethereum serving as its original settlement layer.
The protocol’s core utility strips decentralized yield aggregation down to a single automated function. Every on-chain transfer incurs a flat 2% tax, which the smart contract instantly redistributes among all existing holders. No bonding curves, liquidity pools, or staking dashboards interfere with the mechanism. The code explicitly omits a sell function and swap-and-liquify pattern that characterized older reflection derivatives, leaving a purely peer-to-peer tax distribution.
HOLD operates on the Ethereum network as an ERC-20 token, while equivalent contract instances exist on BNB Chain, Solana, Avalanche, Base, and the novel Monad testnet. The asset does not maintain a standalone blockchain. It inherits the security and finality characteristics of each host network, with Ethereum’s proof-of-stake consensus anchoring its most liquid trading pairs.
The token’s technical footprint extends across EVM and non-EVM environments. On Ethereum, Avalanche, Base, and BNB Chain, it conforms to standard token interfaces (ERC-20 and BEP-20). The Solana deployment exists as an SPL token, while the Base and Monad contracts carry the raw hexadecimal addresses typical of early multichain expansion. There is no administrative override, no minting capability after genesis, and the 2% reflection logic is hardcoded at the transfer level. This architecture ensures that the tax cannot be modified or extracted without a manual redeployment.
No named founders appear in the project’s documentation or on-chain registries. HOLD surfaced in October 2023, at a time when the memetic excesses of reflection tokens from prior cycles had largely faded. The accompanying whitepaper, published at launch, frames the contract’s simplicity as its primary value proposition—an explicit rejection of increasingly convoluted DeFi primitives. Within weeks, the asset accumulated liquidity pools on two dozen pairs across eight exchanges, a pattern typical of grassroots token propagation.
The long-term vision discards active yield hunting in favor of passive, deterministic value accrual. By removing human custody over fee-switching logic, the protocol aims to prove that a minimalistic, trustless redistribution mechanism can outperform managed liquidity mining programs that continuously dilute supply. It challenges the assumption that passive income requires continuous user interaction or delegated governance.
Mechanically, the EARN token functions as the singular access credential and distribution key for the reflection system. Holding any positive balance in a non-custodial wallet automatically entitles the address to a pro-rata share of every 2% tax event across any of the supported chains. The protocol treats all transfers—whether speculative trades, wallet migrations, or system-level routing—equally, with no whitelisted exemptions and no burn address exclusion. There is no governance module, meaning the tax rate remains immutable absent a full migration.
Any market participant who simply holds the token experiences compounded accumulation as transaction volume moves through the network. An arbitrageur executing a rapid cross-chain settlement inadvertently augments the balances of dormant holders on the source chain. A long-term accumulator who never interacts with DeFi tooling still receives incremental tokens in real time. The system does not distinguish between retail and institutional wallets; proportion reigns absolute.
HOLD has a maximum supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens. Currently, 421,460,116.42 EARN are in circulation. The total supply matches the circulating figure precisely, as no tokens remain locked, vested, or subject to team-controlled unlock schedules. With a market capitalization of $1,422,577, HOLD ranks #2,646 among all cryptocurrencies.
