Xaya (CHI) is a cryptocurrency launched in 2018. The asset anchors a sprawling ecosystem of autonomous virtual worlds, positioning itself squarely within the GameFi, metaverse, and decentralized entertainment sectors.
This infrastructure targets a persistent friction in digital gaming: server dependency and administrative centralization. By executing game logic directly on-chain, Xaya enables titles to run without any central authority or single point of failure. Entire multiplayer economies persist indefinitely, uncensorable and entirely governed by code rather than corporate editors.
Xaya operates on its own blockchain using NeoScrypt proof-of-work. The network dedicates itself to high-throughput game state validation, a domain where latency and determinism are non-negotiable. Miners compete to secure game actions—movement commands, asset exchanges, land registry—rather than simple value transfers.
The native chain relies on NeoScrypt, an ASIC-resistant hashing algorithm, to maintain decentralization among block producers. Parallel to this, the Wrapped CHI (WCHI) token extends the asset’s footprint onto Ethereum as an ERC-20 token, onto BNB Chain as a BEP-20 asset, and onto Polygon, bridging the gaming-focused mainnet with broad decentralized finance rails. Developers can thus tap into liquidity pools, DEXs, and lending markets while users retain exposure to the underlying CHI utility.
The project’s lineage predates most modern blockchain gaming narratives. In 2013, the Xaya development collective unveiled Huntercoin, a live experiment in on-chain MMO mechanics that ran autonomously for years, proving that entire game worlds could live on a distributed ledger. Refined through half a decade of R&D, Xaya launched its genesis block on July 3, 2018, hardening that early vision into a purpose-built, production-grade chain.
At its core, the protocol seeks to dismantle the rent-seeking model of centralized game publishers. The technology enforces non-negotiable digital property rights: a sword earned in one realm cannot be erased by a studio closure, and a virtual parcel colonized by a player’s effort retains its sovereign existence for as long as the network functions. This architectural commitment to permanence reframes games as trustless, global economic simulation layers.
CHI functions as the transactional fuel for every state mutation within these autonomous worlds. Deploying a smart contract for a new game mode, executing a player-versus-player attack, or minting a rare in-game artifact all require spending CHI as gas. This tokenomic loop anchors the network’s security budget: higher game activity creates greater fee pressure, which in turn subsidizes the miners securing the chain.
Practically, miners dedicate NeoScrypt hardware to validate moves and earn coinbase rewards plus transaction fees. Game studios are required to lock CHI to launch new serverless experiences, while players continuously spend it to advance their characters and claim assets. Liquidity providers also supply WCHI pairs on decentralized exchanges, earning swap fees while facilitating cross-chain access.
Xaya has a total supply of 77,303,932 CHI tokens. Currently, 58,224,726.45 CHI are in circulation. No fixed maximum supply hard-codes the issuance; new coins continuously enter the ecosystem through mining rewards structured around the project’s whitepaper-defined emission curve. With a market capitalization of $754,295.00, Xaya ranks #3,277 among all cryptocurrencies.
