Speedrun (RUN) is a cryptocurrency launched in 2025. It functions as the on-chain fuel for a decentralized challenge marketplace where real-world stunts and missions are paid out instantly, bypassing traditional gatekeepers.
The protocol targets a vast demographic of income-seeking individuals largely ignored by conventional platforms—ex-felons, conflict-zone residents, students lacking capital, and anyone without a social media following. Instead of harvesting attention or requiring KYC, the system validates work through video evidence and community adjudication. This removes friction that locks billions of people out of digital income streams.
Speedrun operates on the Solana network. Transaction finality on Solana underpins the platform’s ability to disburse rewards the moment a challenge verification is confirmed, eliminating the settlement delays that plague traditional freelance platforms.
The RUN token conforms to the Solana Program Library (SPL) standard, making it natively compatible with all Solana wallets, automated market makers, and decentralized exchanges. Its on-chain contract governs the escrow and release of bounty funds, relying on minimal computational overhead to keep transaction costs negligible.
No founding team has publicly claimed credit for Speedrun; the project surfaced in mid-2025 as an anonymous or community-born initiative. Its philosophical roots draw from the same anti-gatekeeping ethos that spawned the pseudonymous DeFi builders of earlier cycles. The first recorded challenge went live on August 11, 2025, marking the start of a social experiment in decentralized labor.
The long-term ambition of Speedrun is to unbundle income generation from credentialism. By turning any verifiable human action into an earning event, the protocol envisions a world where a phone and the willingness to act are the sole prerequisites for making a living. This reimagining of labor value directly challenges platform monopolies that extract rent from reputation alone.
RUN serves as the exclusive unit of account within the challenge economy. Bounty creators must deposit RUN into a smart contract, and the contract automatically forwards the stake to the first participant who submits proof meeting the stated criteria. The token carries no governance rights, no staking yield, and no secondary revenue share—its utility is purely transactional.
A user who wishes to commission a dare—say, a backflip off a pier—will need to hold and commit RUN. Content creators, on the other hand, accumulate RUN by completing such tasks and can immediately liquidate it on a DEX or recycle it into new challenge bounties they themselves create. This circular flow sustains velocity without requiring speculative holding, though early adopters might stockpile tokens to sponsor increasingly viral contests.
Speedrun has a maximum supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens. Currently, 999,838,075.35 are in circulation. With a market capitalization of $3,873.53, Speedrun ranks #11,516 among all cryptocurrencies.
