PlaysOut (PLAY) is a cryptocurrency launched in 2024. The asset anchors a publishing infrastructure designed for the next iteration of interactive entertainment. It sits at the intersection of gaming, social platforms, and on-chain settlement.
The protocol solves the costly fragmentation that blocks mainstream apps from embedding substantial game libraries natively. Developers leverage a unified SDK to launch and scale thousands of mini-games across high-traffic superapps, converting passive user sessions into active, monetizable play. This mechanism curbs churn and amplifies lifetime value through interactive experiences that require no separate downloads or app-store redirection.
PlaysOut (PLAY) operates on the Base network. A duplicate deployment exists on BNB Smart Chain to facilitate cross-chain liquidity.
The token adheres to ERC-20 standards on Base and BEP-20 on Binance Smart Chain, ensuring full compatibility with Ethereum Virtual Machine tooling. Its open, interoperable architecture allows studios to build once and deploy across multiple chains, abstracting complex bridging mechanics from end users.
The project’s token generation event occurred on March 31, 2024. Early traction came from integration with the Binance Alpha initiative and a portfolio placement by OKX Ventures, vaulting it into the spotlight of the on-chain gaming narrative. No individual founders dominate public-facing documentation; the endeavor appears governed by a distributed team focused on infrastructure-as-a-service for game studios.
The overarching ambition is to convert every high-traffic consumer application into a native gaming arcade without disrupting its core user flow. By abstracting blockchain complexity, PlaysOut aims to onboard Web2 audiences into the on-chain economy through bite-sized, instantly playable content. It treats each in-game tap as a microtransaction that can settle on a public ledger, blurring the line between casual play and value transfer.
PLAY functions mechanically as the settlement gas for the publishing economy. Studios pay fees in PLAY to reserve bandwidth, publish game catalogs, and trigger reward logic inside their mini-games. The token also serves as the accounting unit for in-game value transfer, settling micro-rewards, loot box distributions, and leaderboard payouts directly between smart contracts and player wallets.
Game studios and distributors must acquire and stake PLAY to gain prioritized access to publishing slots and infrastructure throughput, much like a software licensing model. Active players earn the token through achievements and inter-game economies, then spend it on cosmetic upgrades, power-ups, or cross-game asset portability. Liquidity providers supply PLAY to decentralized exchanges to facilitate this flow, capturing a slice of trading fees.
PlaysOut has a maximum supply of 5,000,000,000 tokens. Currently, 373,500,000 are in circulation. With a market capitalization of $46,062,634, PlaysOut ranks #500 among all cryptocurrencies.
