SGC (SG Coin) is a cryptocurrency launched in 2025. It powers Kai Sangokushi Taisen – Battle of Three Kingdoms, a blockchain-based trading card game where historical Warlord Cards are issued as NFTs, emerging from a collaboration between Double Jump Tokyo and Sega.
SGC anchors a strategy gaming niche where the friction between arcade-era collectibility and digital ownership dissolves. Every in-game purchase routes through the token—a transparent, transferable asset replacing opaque virtual currencies. Fiat gateways vanish. The shift strips away app-store intermediaries and delivers genuine custody of card collections.
The token operates on the BNB Smart Chain network. A mirrored deployment sits on the Oasys Layer-2 blockchain within the SG Verse, a gaming-optimized execution layer built in partnership with AltLayer. This dual-chain architecture assigns high liquidity to BSC while Oasys handles real-time match logic and asset registration.
Both environments share full EVM compatibility, and the BEP-20 standard governs the BSC instance. The smart contract addresses are publicly verifiable on BscScan and the Oasys Explorer. Warlord Card NFTs, minted directly on Oasys, leverage the sidechain’s rapid block times to avoid latency during competitive matches.
Double Jump Tokyo, a studio known for blockchain gaming infrastructure, conceived the project in partnership with Sega, drawing on the Sangokushi Taisen series that first captivated arcade audiences decades ago. The token launched on June 13, 2025, with an initial distribution via Binance Wallet IDO and immediate spotlight listings on Binance Alpha. Early traction coalesced around the promise of true digital ownership for a historically significant IP.
The project’s overarching goal is to erect a permanent, player-governed card game where no central server can erase collections or manipulate drop rates. Card provenance rests on a decentralized ledger, neutralizing the publisher’s unilateral control that haunts traditional digital TCGs. The vision extends toward cross-title composability, envisioning SGC as a shared settlement layer for future SG Verse titles.
Inside the game client, SGC is the exclusive medium for purchasing booster packs, cosmetic enhancements, and battle pass access. A transparent on-chain record accompanies every transaction. The litepaper outlines upcoming expansions into staking mechanisms and governance functions, though these remain under development.
A player holding SGC can instantly acquire Warlord Card NFTs from the in-game store and later offload them on external BEP-20-compatible marketplaces. Acquiring the token through supported exchanges turns fiat into direct card ownership, bypassing the walled gardens of conventional app economies. Early participants from the IDO also received redeemable vouchers for launch-edition cards.
SGC has a maximum supply of 10,000,000,000 tokens. Currently, 6,600,000,000 are in circulation. With a market capitalization of $48,474, SGC ranks #7,095 among all cryptocurrencies.
