Tokenlon Network Token (LON) is a cryptocurrency launched in 2020. It functions as the core utility token for the Tokenlon decentralized exchange, a venue engineered to execute trustless token swaps without custody risk.
Centralized exchanges demand that users deposit assets, introducing custodial risk and single points of failure. Tokenlon circumvents this by settling trades directly on-chain via Ethereum and Arbitrum One smart contracts, preserving self-custody at all times. A relay network transmits signed order messages, and atomic swaps execute without an intermediary holding funds. The tokenomic layer aligns all participants—traders, market makers, and passive stakers—around shared protocol revenue.
Tokenlon Network Token operates on the Ethereum network. A secondary bridge contract extends its reach to Arbitrum One, a rollup that compresses transaction fees by more than an order of magnitude. Finality is inherited from Ethereum’s consensus. No separate validator set or custom consensus mechanism underpins the token; it exists merely as a record on a shared ledger.
LON is an ERC-20 token. That means any self-custody wallet for Ethereum can hold it, and any DeFi protocol can integrate it. A bridged representation runs on Arbitrum One, where transfers incur a minuscule fraction of mainnet gas. No additional cryptographic primitives or specialized nodes are required—just the EVM runtime and a standard token interface.
The token emerged on December 23, 2020. ConsenLabs, the studio behind imToken and Tokenlon, pushed it live without a public pre-mine. No celebrity founder is attached. Instead, a distributed team of engineers maintains the codebase. Early adopters were mostly Ethereum natives who valued censorship-resistant swaps over deep order-book liquidity.
Tokenlon’s long-term aim is to build a self-perpetuating exchange where economic participation and governance rights are inseparable. Every fee collected flows back to those who stake tokens and contribute to decision-making, not to a corporate entity. The exchange becomes a common good.
LON’s role is purely functional. Staking it grants a claim on protocol fees and weight in governance proposals. No yield springs from inflation; the rewards are real revenue from trading activity. Voting decides whether to adjust fee tiers, whitelist new token pairs, or allocate treasury grants.
A liquidity provider who stakes LON in the dedicated pool sees a multiplier applied to her share of daily fee accruals. An occasional trader can hold LON simply to slash the spread on swaps. Treasury expenditures—for audits, integrations, grants—require a successful token-weighted vote, turning passive holders into active stewards.
Tokenlon Network Token has a maximum supply of 200,000,000 tokens. Currently, 123,440,926.02 are in circulation. With a market capitalization of $32,840,086, Tokenlon Network Token ranks #631 among all cryptocurrencies.
