Skate (SKATE) is a cryptocurrency launched in 2025. It functions as a universal execution layer for decentralized applications, bridging the historically isolated domains of the Ethereum Virtual Machine, Solana’s SVM, and Move-based chains.
The protocol’s central innovation is the Skate AMM—a decentralized exchange architecture that collapses fragmented liquidity from EVM, SVM, and MOVE chains onto a single bonding curve. Slippage dips. Capital efficiency multiplies. The model eliminates wrapped tokens and external bridges, which have long been vectors for exploits and inefficiency.
The SKATE token operates on the Ethereum network. The broader Skate infrastructure functions as a middleware layer, coordinating state transitions across Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum, and BNB Smart Chain without requiring developers to learn new programming paradigms.
Technically, SKATE conforms to the ERC-20 token standard on Ethereum. Equivalent deployments exist as SPL tokens on Solana and BEP-20 tokens on BNB Smart Chain. These native implementations permit direct cross-chain value flow without custody risk or third-party bridge dependencies. The protocol’s smart contracts are accessible on GitHub, with the AMM’s logic detailed in a publicly auditable whitepaper.
The project surfaced in 2025 without publicly disclosed founders. Its mainnet token went live on June 9 of that year. Early traction was swift. The token quickly listed across 86 active trading pairs on 15 exchanges, signaling immediate market demand for its cross-VM narrative. The codebase remains open-source, though early repository engagement has been measured.
Skate aims to obliterate the walled gardens of virtual machine architectures. A Solidity lending protocol can tap directly into a Solana liquidity pool; a Move-based NFT marketplace settles auctions in an EVM wallet. Chain-specific execution becomes an invisible abstraction layer, making multi-VM composability the protocol’s core thesis.
The SKATE token works mechanically as the gas unit for swap execution on the Skate AMM. Liquidity providers receive SKATE-denominated incentives for depositing paired assets into multi-chain vaults. Token holders steer protocol evolution—setting fee parameters, allocating treasury reserves, and approving smart contract upgrades through on-chain voting.
Liquidity providers stake SKATE and counterparty assets to earn a pro-rata slice of trading fees and incentive distributions. Traders pay SKATE fees to route swaps through the unified curve. Cross-chain arbitrageurs exploit price discrepancies across integrated VMs without manually bridging funds.
Skate has a maximum supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens. Currently, 170,902,300.65 are circulating. With a market capitalization of $312,795, Skate ranks #4,248 among all cryptocurrencies.
