About Rubic

Rubic (RBC) is a cryptocurrency launched in 2020. It functions as the native utility token of a cross-chain DEX aggregation protocol.

Rubic operates as a DEX aggregator. Its Best Rate Finder algorithms scan over 220 decentralized exchanges and bridges, spanning 70-plus blockchains and testnets, to offer cross-chain and on-chain swaps on more than 15,500 tokens in one click. Traders no longer need to manually compare fragmented liquidity pools, disparate bridge fees, or slippage — the protocol compresses all decision variables into a single optimal route.

Rubic operates on the Ethereum network as an ERC-20 token. Interoperability across additional ecosystems, notably Arbitrum One, is enabled through bridging contracts, allowing assets to move frictionlessly. No proprietary consensus layer exists; the token inherits security from Ethereum’s proof-of-stake finality.

The protocol’s smart contracts are deployed on Ethereum and Arbitrum One, guaranteeing EVM compatibility. A dedicated MetaMask Snap allows users to compare on-chain swap rates without leaving their wallet interface, while an embeddable widget and fully customizable SDK grant dApps native cross-chain swap functionality. The entire codebase is publicly auditable, with repositories maintained on GitHub.

The project emerged in 2020, with its on-chain presence materializing on September 23 of that year. Absent a publicly named founding team, the development has been steered by a decentralized collective, evidenced by a fully open-source codebase and governance mechanisms that matured over subsequent years. Early integrations with emerging blockchains — chains often absent on giant DEXs — helped the protocol carve a distinct niche.

Rubic’s overarching mission centers on democratizing cross-chain value transfer by abstracting the complexity of fragmented liquidity pools into a single, trust-minimized interface. Rather than positioning itself as a standalone blockchain, the protocol strives to become the infrastructure layer that unifies isolated DeFi ecosystems.

Within the Rubic ecosystem, RBC tokens underwrite protocol integration costs — SDK subscriptions and integration service fees are settled exclusively in RBC. Token holders cast votes on governance proposals that steer treasury allocations, grant distributions, and parameter adjustments. Holding RBC also mechanically reduces cross-chain transaction fees and provides access to gasless swap mechanisms, directly lowering operational costs for frequent traders.

Developers seeking to embed cross-chain swaps into their applications pay for SDK subscriptions using RBC, while integrators may receive protocol grants also denominated in RBC. Traders who maintain an RBC balance automatically unlock reduced exchange fees and receive distributions of partner airdrops, creating a direct economic incentive for token retention.

Rubic has a maximum supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens. Currently, 211,470,548 are in circulation. With a market capitalization of $837,093.00, Rubic ranks #3,152 among all cryptocurrencies.
