Rook (ROOK) is a cryptocurrency operating on the Ethereum blockchain. It functions as an open settlement protocol that aggregates algorithmic trading strategies from top-performing on-chain strategists to maximize transaction value for market participants.
The protocol directly addresses the market friction of suboptimal trade execution and maximal extractable value (MEV) extraction. By pooling strategies from algorithmic traders, Rook redistributes value back to protocols, liquidity providers, and ordinary traders. It is classified primarily as a DeFi primitive within the decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregation and yield optimization landscape.
Rook operates as a set of smart contracts primarily on the Ethereum network, with additional contract instances deployed on Sora, Energi, and Harmony. It does not maintain its own standalone blockchain; rather, it leverages the execution environments of these host networks. This multi-chain presence extends its settlement aggregation capabilities across disparate EVM-compatible ecosystems.
The ROOK token is an ERC-20 asset on Ethereum, with mirrored token contracts operating under similar standards on Sora, Energi, and Harmony. The protocol’s codebase, organized under the KeeperDAO GitHub repository, emphasizes modular algorithmic execution and low-overhead on-chain settlement. Smart contract addresses are publicly verifiable across each supported network.
Rook’s development emerged from the KeeperDAO initiative, a project historically centered on capturing and redistributing miner extractable value. The protocol’s open-source repository, maintained under the KeeperDAO organization, indicates a continuous codebase lineage from its early iterations.
The broader ambition of the project is to rebalance extractive on-chain dynamics by systematically internalizing MEV and spreading its proceeds across ecosystem participants. Rather than allowing external bots to siphon value, Rook intends to make transaction ordering a collaborative, transparent process. This vision frames settlement not as a zero-sum game but as a shared utility layer.
Mechanically, ROOK functions as the native settlement and incentive token within its aggregation protocol. When users stake or supply capital to the algorithmic strategies, the protocol uses ROOK to settle rewards and distribute captured MEV refunds. This mechanism directly aligns the token’s circulation with the volume of transaction value recovered.
Users who hold and stake ROOK in the protocol’s vaults receive a proportional cut of the value recaptured from MEV opportunities. Algorithmic Keepers lock ROOK as collateral to secure the right to execute settlement strategies, creating a permissionless, bond-based participation model. This staking and bonding mechanism forms the economic spine of the settlement network.
Rook has a maximum supply of 1,500,000 ROOK tokens. Currently, 761,211.27 ROOK are in circulation. With a market capitalization of $45,409.00, Rook ranks #7,181 among all cryptocurrencies.
