ProShares Short QQQ Tokenized Stock (Ondo) (PSQon) is a cryptocurrency. It operates as a tokenized security issued by Ondo Finance, representing a claim on shares of the ProShares Short QQQ exchange-traded fund.
The asset allows on-chain traders to gain inverse exposure to the NASDAQ-100 Index without leaving a self-custodied wallet. This tokenization removes the friction of traditional brokerage accounts, settlement delays, and geographic restrictions. It integrates a regulated short-ETF product into the composable infrastructure of decentralized finance.
It operates on the Ethereum network, with mirrored token contracts on BNB Smart Chain and Solana.
On Ethereum, PSQon adheres to the ERC-20 standard; on BNB Smart Chain, it functions as a BEP-20 token; and on Solana, it conforms to the SPL token specification. The contract addresses across chains share the same obligation to the underlying ProShares Short QQQ shares. Settlement finality remains a function of each respective blockchain’s consensus, imposing no extra latency on token movement.
Ondo Finance, the issuer, initially gained prominence for tokenizing US Treasury debt and later expanded to encompass exchange-traded funds. The PSQon token arrived as part of Ondo Global Markets, a permissioned ecosystem designed to wrap traditional securities for on-chain execution. No single founder name dominates the project’s narrative; instead, the development is attributed to Ondo Finance’s institutional-grade team.
The asset aims to collapse the boundaries between conventional ETF markets and decentralized finance. By tokenizing a short-ETF product, it provides a native hedging instrument for crypto portfolios, enabling market participants to maintain bearish positions without converting digital assets back into fiat. This purpose aligns with broader efforts to build a unified, globally accessible capital market on public blockchain rails.
Each token constitutes a digital wrapper around a single share of the ProShares Short QQQ ETF, held by a regulated custodian. Minting and burning occur through Ondo’s verified processes: authorized participants deposit ETF shares to receive tokens, and token holders can redeem back for the underlying security. The token serves as the settlement unit for all on-chain activity involving that specific inverse ETF exposure.
A crypto fund manager might hold PSQon in a non-custodial wallet to hedge a long portfolio of tech-oriented digital assets. Liquidity providers can pair the token with stablecoins in automated market maker pools to earn trading fees. Lending protocols accept the token as collateral, allowing borrowers to obtain loans without liquidating their short exposure.
ProShares Short QQQ Tokenized Stock (Ondo) has a total supply of 543.72 tokens. Currently, 543.72 are in circulation. With a market capitalization of $15,311.95, the token ranks #9,142 among all cryptocurrencies.
