Nelore Coin (NLC) is a cryptocurrency launched in 2022, classified as an agricultural meme token operating on the BNB Chain ecosystem.
The protocol channels transaction tax revenue into a treasury that acquires or leases cattle farms in Brazil. Profits buy back NLC. This mechanical loop embeds a self-reinforcing demand source tethered to physical agricultural output rather than pure speculation, confronting the asset’s market with the tangible economics of livestock production.
Operating on the BNB Smart Chain network, the token adheres to the BEP-20 standard and integrates with decentralized exchanges native to that environment. Transaction throughput and settlement finality derive from the underlying chain’s architecture, not from any separate consensus mechanism.
The NLC smart contract automates tax collection, treasury routing, and profit-based buybacks without relying on off-chain intermediaries. Built atop an Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible chain, the token inherits the broader composability of that developer ecosystem while restricting its direct fiscal logic to the Binance Smart Chain’s low-cost blockspace.
CEO Marcos Rodrigo, Vice President Carlos Junior, and CFO Emerson Muller co-founded the project, leading a team of agricultural experts with more than two decades of combined experience. Within its early footprint, the entity acquired two operational farms in Brazil spanning 20 hectares, capable of producing 20,000 Nelore cattle. These physical assets anchor the protocol’s revenue model and differentiate it from purely synthetic reward mechanisms.
The project’s long-term ambitions target a fusion of web3 primitives with an antiquated agricultural sector. Concrete plans include tokenizing individual Nelore cattle via non-fungible tokens and engraving immutable production and distribution records on-chain. A speculative marketplace would let participants trade synthetic exposure to live commodities such as cows, seeds, oxen, and poultry.
Every transfer of NLC incurs a transaction tax that flows directly into a treasury. The treasury purchases or leases cattle farms, and farm profits then systematically repurchase NLC from liquidity pools. This mechanism establishes a direct monetary conduit between real-world agricultural earnings and the token’s market dynamics.
Holding NLC provides indirect participation in the net revenue generated by Brazilian cattle farming. Periodic buybacks shrink the circulating float, distributing the value of physical profits to holders without requiring them to own livestock or arable land. This structure ties token scarcity to the agricultural cycle, rewarding long-term exposure.
Nelore Coin has a maximum supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens. Currently, 60,070,412.73 are in circulation. With a market capitalization of $871.52, Nelore Coin ranks #12,329 among all cryptocurrencies.
