Kasta (KASTA) is a cryptocurrency launched in 2022. It operates as a digital payment platform token within the Polygon ecosystem, categorised under payment solutions and centralised exchange tokens by market aggregators.
The protocol specialises in instant, borderless peer-to-peer transfers that eliminate the typical tolls of cross-border remittance. Kasta’s design voids transaction fees entirely when both sender and receiver denominate their exchange in KASTA. Zero intermediary. Direct ledger update. This approach attacks the enduring friction of micropayments and financial exclusion.
The asset operates on the Polygon network using a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism. Polygon’s architecture supplies rapid block finality and sub-cent gas costs, essential for a payment rail intended to move small sums without eroding value. The chain handles consensus, Kasta handles the transfer layer.
Technically, KASTA is an ERC-20 token deployed on Polygon’s proof-of-stake chain, inheriting full Ethereum Virtual Machine compatibility. Its smart contract—prefix 0x235737dbb5—exposes standard fungible token methods that wallets integrate without bespoke plumbing. The network supports the token’s low-latency settlement. Block times average around two seconds on Polygon.
The token’s launch on January 5, 2022, arrived without public disclosure of a founding team or lead developers, a pattern common among early-stage crypto payment ventures. Listings followed across a handful of markets. Daily exchange volumes remain negligible. Despite this, the infrastructure persists, with the token accessible on 48 active trading pairs.
Kasta’s long-term ambition is to disintermediate small-value transfers, making digital cash as simple as handing over a physical note. Stripping away per-transaction charges targets informal economies, migrant remittances, and any corridor where banking rails inflate costs or delay settlement. The project does not position itself as a store of value but as a plumbing layer for real-time payments.
Within the payment system, the KASTA token acts as the native settlement asset. When both counterparties hold balances in KASTA, the platform processes the transfer fee-free, using the token’s contract to adjust ledger entries without extracting a toll. The token carries no governance rights or yield. Its sole mechanical purpose is to denominate payments and remove friction from the value transfer layer.
A user holds KASTA to send money to another party on the ka.app platform without incurring any deduction from the transmitted amount. Merchants or recipients who accept KASTA can receive funds instantly across borders, bypassing both bank wire delays and currency conversion markups. The token’s utility is entirely transactional. Holders move it, they do not stake it.
Kasta has a maximum supply of 1,500,000,000 tokens. Currently, 765,441,073.07 are in circulation. A total of 1,499,516,764 tokens have been minted, leaving an immaterial gap beneath the cap. With a market capitalization of $131,599, Kasta ranks #5,413 among all cryptocurrencies.
