Insurance (INSURANCE) is a cryptocurrency launched in 2024. The asset classifies as a decentralized insurance protocol, furnishing on-chain coverage against cryptocurrency-specific risks while bridging the chasm between traditional underwriting frameworks and the exigencies of digital asset protection.
It functions as a DeFi-native insurance layer, enabling parametric or discretionary coverage against smart contract failures, exchange insolvencies, and other cryptographic loss vectors. The protocol directly addresses the opacity and counterparty risk endemic to conventional insurance by codifying claims assessment and payouts into immutable smart contracts. No centralized intermediary adjudicates, and no legacy balance sheet dictates solvency.
Insurance operates on the BNB Smart Chain network. Its logic executes across a validator-secured, EVM-compatible environment that offers sub-second block finality and low execution costs, which are critical for high-frequency policy origination and claims resolution.
The token adheres to the BEP-20 standard, guaranteeing native compatibility with BSC wallet infrastructure, automated market makers, and lending markets. Smart contracts underpin every function from premium locking to parametric trigger verification, and the on-chain bytecode remains open to public scrutiny via BscScan. No proprietary off-chain settlement engine governs the mechanics.
The project emerged from an anonymous team of insurance and blockchain specialists, launching publicly on September 29, 2024. Without disclosing individual identities, the group published a whitepaper outlining a hybrid claims model that blends parametric automation with discretionary review to mitigate moral hazard. The launch was accompanied by listings on 12 active trading markets, with early liquidity seeded on BSC.
The protocol’s long-term objective centers on fusing actuarial precision with the programmable transparency of a distributed ledger, constructing a global permissionless coverage marketplace. It targets the chronic protection gap for digital assets, where conventional insurers often retreat due to regulatory ambiguity and risk modeling constraints.
INSURANCE tokens serve as the settlement unit for policy premiums and as the staking asset that capitalizes risk pools. Liquidity providers deposit tokens into designated underwriting vaults, absorbing potential claim exposure. In return, the system allocates a portion of earned premiums to stakers, dynamically adjusting yields based on pool utilization and loss ratios.
Policy purchasers lock tokens to activate coverage on specified smart contract addresses or wallet balances, while underwriters commit capital to earn yield derived from that very premium flow. Should a validated trigger event occur—such as a blacklisted address draining funds—the protocol disburses compensation directly from the staked pool, circumventing the delays of manual adjusters.
Insurance has a maximum supply of 100,000,000 tokens. Currently, 0 are in circulation. With a market capitalization of $0, Insurance ranks #4,390 among all cryptocurrencies.
