Everclear (CLEAR) is a cryptocurrency launched in 2023. It positions itself as a foundational component of the chain abstraction stack, a clearing layer that coordinates global settlement of liquidity across modular blockchains.
The protocol targets the fragmentation that plagues multi-chain ecosystems, where liquidity is siloed and inefficient. By integrating with intent protocols, solver networks, and decentralized applications, it enables transaction settlement at optimal prices. The backend liquidity platform orchestrates order matching for intent-based bridges, removing the need for users to manually route assets.
Everclear operates on the Ethereum network. The core clearing contracts are deployed there, anchoring its cross-chain settlement operations.
As an ERC-20 token, CLEAR can be held in any compatible Ethereum wallet. Equivalent token representations exist on BNB Chain as BEP-20, and on Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Gnosis Chain via contract addresses mirroring the Ethereum deployment. This multi-chain footprint lets the asset move natively across ecosystems, directly supporting its chain abstraction mandate.
The project launched on September 4, 2023, with no publicly disclosed founding team. Its source code is accessible on GitHub under the Connext organization, a name previously tied to cross-chain infrastructure work. That repository association hints at a lineage with earlier interoperability initiatives.
The long-term objective is a neutral settlement layer for chain-abstraction activity. Consolidating liquidity and matching intents across disparate networks aims to eliminate manual bridging, centralizing cross-chain order flow instead. This reworks the user journey from fragmented multi-step processes into a single transaction.
CLEAR functions as the settlement currency for the protocol’s matching engine. Solvers and liquidity providers post it as bond or cover operational costs when fulfilling cross-chain intent orders. End-user fees flowing through integrated bridges are settled in the token, creating a direct tie between network usage and asset demand.
Solvers and market makers must hold CLEAR to access order matching and collect fees from completed transactions. Decentralized applications that abstract away the clearing layer still depend on CLEAR liquidity underneath for settlement. Exchanges and custodians may list the token to give users indirect exposure to cross-chain settlement flows.
Everclear has a maximum supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens. Currently, 810,887,706 are in circulation. With a market capitalization of $333,877, Everclear ranks #4,171 among all cryptocurrencies.
