Cellframe (CELL) is a cryptocurrency launched in 2017 that anchors a post-quantum secure, sharded blockchain platform built for high-throughput interoperability.
The network supplies an open-source environment where enterprises and developers fabricate t-dApps—lightweight decentralized applications—and even whole sovereign blockchains. Cellframe targets the twin tensions of scaling bottlenecks and the impending quantum threat to elliptic curve cryptography. Native dual-layer sharding, conditional transactions, and multiparty computations collapse latency and reduce cost barriers without compromising data integrity.
The Cellframe Network operates on its own blockchain engineered from plain C, bypassing any virtual machine abstraction. This decision allows the consensus and execution plane to run natively on hardware ranging from mainframe clusters to smart appliances.
The token is deployed as an ERC-20 contract on Ethereum and as a BEP-20 on BNB Chain, bridging two sprawling ecosystems. Post-quantum cryptographic primitives replace conventional signature schemes, conferring resistance to Shor’s algorithm attacks. The dual-layer sharding architecture splits state and transaction processing into parallel lanes, scaling throughput horizontally as more nodes join the validator set.
The project surfaced out of Russia with a launch in September 2017, when quantum-resistant consensus was an esoteric subfield. Its codebase evolved through open-source contributions tracked in public repositories, while the original architects remain publicly unnamed. Early traction materialized within cybersecurity and cross-chain circles, eventually expanding to 80 active trading markets and a constellation of exchange listings.
Cellframe pursues an infrastructure paradigm where blockchain networks remain computationally sound after large-scale quantum computers arrive. Rather than retrofitting post-quantum safeguards onto legacy chains, the protocol reconstructs the full stack—consensus, execution, and inter-chain messaging—around quantum-safe primitives.
CELL serves as the native fuel for all shard-level operations, paying for execution of conditional transactions, state storage, and inter-shard communication. Multiparty computation protocols demand a CELL escrow, bonding economic stake to the integrity of each confidential compute job.
Developers leveraging the C-based SDK must spend CELL to deploy and provision t-dApps, tying network utilization to token demand. Cross-chain bridges that relay state between Ethereum, BNB Chain, and future sovereign blockchains similarly consume CELL for settlement verification and routing fees.
Cellframe has a total supply of 37,735,000 tokens. Currently, 37,170,000 CELL are in circulation. With a market capitalization of $1,780,576, Cellframe ranks #2,443 among all cryptocurrencies.
