LCX is a cryptocurrency launched in 2019. The token powers LCX.com, a Liechtenstein-incorporated platform that merges regulated capital markets with digital asset trading, custody, and tokenization.
LCX addresses the compliance vacuum that inhibits institutional capital from entering crypto markets. It operates a fully regulated venue designed to issue, trade, and manage security tokens and real-world digital assets. The platform’s infrastructure layers legal oversight directly onto every transaction, reducing counterparty risks and regulatory ambiguity.
The token functions as an ERC-20 asset on the Ethereum network. Every transfer and smart-contract interaction settles through Ethereum’s globally distributed validator set. This dependence on a battle-tested Layer-1 blockchain ensures that LCX transactions inherit the same censorship-resistance and uptime as Ether itself.
Built as an ERC-20 equivalent, LCX operates within the Ethereum Virtual Machine and remains compatible with all standard wallets and decentralized exchange interfaces. The token’s contract is permanently inscribed on-chain and can be audited via any block explorer. There are no sidechain dependencies or bespoke consensus mechanisms; it relies purely on Ethereum’s execution layer.
LCX traces its roots to Liechtenstein, a jurisdiction that adopted one of the earliest comprehensive blockchain laws. The project minted its token on June 6, 2019, entering the market at a time when security tokens were still a speculative concept. Its early roadmap centered on delivering a compliant primary issuance platform and a secondary market for tokenized equities, bonds, and real estate.
The overarching objective is to dismantle the wall between conventional securities markets and the crypto-native token economy. By embedding regulatory compliance into the transaction layer, the platform aims to make tokenized real-world assets as accessible and liquid as any listed stock. It positions itself as a fiduciary infrastructure layer, not merely an exchange.
As an exchange-issued token, LCX is the designated settlement unit for trading fees across all pairs listed on the platform. It also serves as the required utility for asset issuers seeking to structure security tokens through the platform’s tokenization engine. Holding LCX unlocks tiered access to advanced trading interfaces and custody tools.
The token maintains utility across 97 active markets, a footprint that supports arbitrageurs and market makers seeking to capture spread differentials. Institutional clients use LCX to settle the compliance fees associated with minting security tokens on the platform. Eight exchanges presently list the asset, reinforcing continuous liquidity and price discovery.
LCX has a maximum supply of 950,000,000 tokens. Currently, 940,989,527 LCX are in circulation. With a market capitalization of $30,103,578, LCX ranks #684 among all cryptocurrencies.
